Meeeeeee!
Hello and welcome to the blog. Congratulations on finding it, hidden here in the blogging jungle.
My name is Becky and I'm trying to improve my drawing skills. To do this I figured I'd challenge myself to draw at least one picture every day for a whole year and post them here. I decided to create a blog because I want to make people laugh with my drawings. Statistically it's possible I'll be able to generate at least one chuckle per month and you can't argue with maths.
I'm not a trained artist. I know, hard to believe isn't it? I did do 7 weeks of an A level art course and I got a B for GCSE Art but I don't think that really counts. I toyed with the idea of just drawing bowls of fruit or sleeping cats to improve my skills, but they're not really that funny. Unless you have the fruit randomly meowing at the cat every time he shuts his eyes just to piss him off; then the cat loses it and takes a banana hostage and the grapefruit has to negotiate for the bananas safe release. You might get lucky and see this as a straight to DVD film one day.
Anyway, back to the drawing. At the moment it takes me an eternity to draw things and the results are ok. This time next year things will, hopefully, be different. I'll either be on my way to mastering cartoons or I'll be rocking in a corner somewhere sobbing and eating crayons.
Some posts will be short, others will be long. Some will be wordy, others will have few words. It all depends on how I feel that day and how many distractions crop up. There WILL be a post every day, unless I'm very badly injured or the apocalypse happens.
I'd just like to point out that my major influence is Gary Larson. I've been told that some of my pictures are similar to his humour. I'm not trying to be the next Gary Larson. There will only ever be one of him and he's great at what he does. Other influences are The Perry Bible Fellowship, Hyperbole and a Half, The Book of Bunny Suicides, Garfield...the list goes on!
